Welcome to a new installment of my series. Today I am introducing to you Ford Forkum. He is a writer, not only of books, since he also writes songs. Oh, and he also animates cartoons. He is an interesting author that everybody should get to know better.

  1. Describe yourself. I love humor – satire, parody, surrealism...there are a lot of things about the establishment I don’t like and I enjoy a good bit of subversive mockery.

  2. What is your favourite fruit flavour? – That’s a tough one, but I’ll say red grapes.

  3. What is your favourite day of the week? The day that I can spend most of my time being creative and moving forward in my life, and the least time dealing with hassles.

  4. Which is your favourite time of the day? My favorite time of day is when I’m finished with working and can get on with playing, which usually involves more working.

  5. Are you a morning person or a night person? It depends on the situation, but I’m generally nocturnal.

  6. What is your favourite breakfast meal? Anything that involves bacon is a sure winner.

  7. What is your favourite colour and why? My favorite color is blue because it seems to be the one color that looks good in the most shades and hues.

  8. Which is your most favourite book ever? For nostalgia’s sake, it would have to be Douglas Adam’s The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – the five story “trilogy.”

  9. What kind of music do you like? I like classic and progressive rock, Indian classical, jazz, fusion, impressionist classical, and funk. Anything with a compelling groove, textured harmony, and an epic drum solo.

  10. Which is your favourite genre of films? I don’t really have a favorite. I enjoy any film that absorbs my attention and makes me care about the outcome.

  11. Which is your most favourite place in this Earth? Probably the upper mantle.

  12. Which animal would you want to be and why? I’d be an eagle so I could spend my life flying around in open areas and being majestic and stuff.

  13. If you could have a luncheon with any 3 people (real or fictitious), who would you choose and why? I’d have luncheon with J.K. Rowling, Jesus, and Batman. This answer requires no explanation.

  14. If you were granted 3 wishes, what would you ask for? Wish #1: For everyone in the world to always have as much as they needed. Wish #2: For all people to be incapable of harming each other. Wish #3: For all people to be able to make of themselves exactly what they wish – including healing themselves.

  15. If you were stranded on a lonely beach, what are the 5 things that you would want to survive? I’d want a working cruise ship with a competent crew, a map, a passport, an entourage of military-class submarines in case of pirates, and enough money to pay everyone for my safe return home.

  16. If you could be anyone, who would you be? I’d be God.

  17. What is the one thing you wish you could change in yourself? I wish I could do things faster.

  18. What is the one thing you wish you could do if given the chance? Win the lottery.

  19. What would you do if you won the lottery? It would depend on how much I won.

  20. If you knew that this was your last day on Earth, how would you spend it? I’d spend it tying up loose ends, giving my stuff away, and saying goodbye. There’d be no point in doing anything else.

  21. Were you a naughty kid or a nice kid? Only Santa knows.

  22. What was the happiest moment in your life? I’m hanging on to the idea that the happiest moment in my life hasn’t happened yet.

  23. Where do you see yourself 5 years from now? Five years hence, I shall have conquered the world, the moon, and several neighboring planets.

  24. What makes you angry? Injustice, bigotry, arrogance, authoritarianism, hypocrisy, greed, cruelty, deception, corruption, vanity, elitism, violence, abuse of power, cheaters, liars, backstabbers, know-it-alls...I’ll stop here because I could potentially never finish this question.

  25. What do you do when you feel sad? I try to remember to change my perspective.

  26. Who or what inspires you?  A sense of possibility.

  27. Congratulations! Now you can freely rant about your book(s) and/or projects. What? Oh, that...

Fun interview, Ford, but there is something bacon doesn't compliment: chocolate, it doesn't go well with chocolate...If there was an award for best answer about being stranded on a desert island, you just won it, and if you ever do get that lunch date, please take me along. :)

Fun read Cinta - Rushed off to Amazon to pick up Ford's Apocalyptic Alien Zombie Adventure. I'm new to Kindle and your blogs really inspired (and pushed ) me to this new way of reading .. What is particularly amazing is my ability to find indie authors so readily. I think I may love it.. - Total Convert

Great interview, smiled through the whole thing. I agree any meal is great with bacon!! Especially the fresh maple-glazed bacon from Vermont. Mmm. Shoot, now I'm craving bacon ...

What a great interview! Aside from the obvious kinship of meeting another classic and prog rock fan (prog rock is much maligned!), what I really loved here is Ford's sense of optimism, great sense of humour, and gratitude for his good fortune.

Just awesome. I love this group!

A cruise ship AND an entourage!? Excuse me :) Most of us are just happy with rainwater and a kindle.... ha ha. Guess we need to start thinking a bit BIGGER.
